Snake Causes Hour-long Disruption in Mumbai Courtroom, Proceedings Halted Temporarily

On Tuesday, a snake disrupted proceedings at a courtroom in Mumbai, causing a temporary halt for about an hour.

The incident took place in Room 27 of the magistrate court in Mulund, where everything was running smoothly until a policeman discovered a 2-foot-long snake among a pile of files around noon.

A lawyer in the courtroom described the scene as one of panic, prompting the judge to pause the proceedings.

Snake-catchers were called in and began searching through the room, which was cluttered with old files and had numerous cavities in the walls and floors. Despite their efforts, the snake was not located, with the lawyer speculating that it may have slithered into one of the room's crevices.

After an hour, court proceedings resumed. Interestingly, this was not the first time such an occurrence had taken place.

A day before, a snake was spotted on a courtroom window, and two months ago, another was seen in the judge's chamber, according to lawyer Biswaroop Dubey.
