Senior advocate Pasnooru Venugopal Rao suffered a fatal heart attack while presenting arguments before the Telangana High Court on Tuesday. He was 66.

Rao was making submissions before Justice Laxmi Narayana Alishetty around 1:20 PM when he suddenly felt uneasy and collapsed.

Fellow advocates immediately attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rushed him to Osmania Hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Practicing at the Telangana High Court since 1998, Rao was a respected member of the legal fraternity.

Telangana High Court Bar Association president A. Ravinder Reddy confirmed that several lawyers in the courtroom tried to revive him, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
