Senior Advocate Devang Vyas has stepped down from his position as Additional Solicitor General (ASG) for the Gujarat High Court and the Bombay High Court, submitting his resignation on Wednesday.
Devang Vyas stated that his decision to resign from the position of Additional Solicitor General (ASG) for the Gujarat High Court and the Bombay High Court was driven by his intention to focus on private practice.
"I have had really good 12 years as the ASG of Gujarat. This is my 12th year. Initially I was apprehensive about the position, but later I got into it," Vyas said.
Devang Vyas further shared that he would continue to reside in Bombay and base his legal practice there.
Vyas was first appointed as the Additional Solicitor General (ASG) for the Gujarat High Court 12 years ago, with his most recent tenure extension granted in June 2023. In July 2023, he was also entrusted with the additional responsibility of ASG for the Bombay High Court following the conclusion of former ASG Anil C. Singh’s nine-year tenure.
