Senior Advocate Birendra Saraf to be the next Advocate General for Maharashtra

Dr. Birendra Saraf, Senior Advocate is going to be appointed the new Advocate General for the State of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Government has approved his name for the post and awaiting Governor's assent.

The move came after the incumbent Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni tendered his registration and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accepted the same.

Sr. Adv. Saraf is practicing in the Bombay High Court for last more than 25 years. As a Junior Advocate, Safar had worked with the present Chief Justice of India Dr. DY Chandrachud. 

Saraf was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2020 and he is presently Vice-President of the High Court Bar Association. He was elected as Secretary of the Bar Association 6 times.
