The Supreme Court bench lead by CJI DY Chandtachud agreses to hear a NEET Petition on 8th July.

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA) in response to a petition filed by a learning app, alleging exam rigging in the recently conducted NEET-UG exams

The petition highlights grave concerns regarding the integrity of the NEET-UG examination conducted on May 5. The results, declared on June 4, have been embroiled in controversy due to allegations of irregularities and malpractice. According to the petitioners, over 1,500 students received grace marks, significantly affecting the overall rankings and fairness of the exam.

In addition to the Supreme Court's involvement, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been assigned to investigate multiple cases related to the alleged paper leak and exam rigging. The CBI's inquiry extends across several states and has resulted in the interrogation of individuals, as well as several arrests linked to the case.

The petitioners, represented by the coaching center and students, argued for the students' right to access their Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets. However, Justice Manoj Mishra and Justice SVN Bhatti, who are presiding over the case, questioned the assertion of fundamental rights allegedly violated by the NTA's actions.

In her address to a joint sitting of Parliament today, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the government's commitment to investigating allegations of exam paper leaks.
