Supreme Court is set to deliver its judgment on the bail plea of Manish Sisodia, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party. Sisodia finds himself in judicial custody, entangled in corruption and money laundering cases linked to investigations conducted by both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The two-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti will pronounce the verdict at 10:30 am on Monday.
The former deputy chief minister was arrested in connection with cases involving the Delhi excise policy scam and for his role in endorsing documents to expedite the distribution of funds for development initiatives within his assembly constituency.
During a previous hearing on October 5, the Supreme Court had put forth tough questions for the central agencies investigating the Delhi liquor policy case, asking for evidence they claim to have against Sisodia.
"Where is the proof? Where is the evidence? You have to establish a chain. The money has to flow from the liquor lobby to the person. Where are the proceeds of the crime?," the Supreme Court questions Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while hearing the bail petition.
