The Supreme Court witnessed a 'star-studded' moment today, August 9, as actor and producer Aamir Khan made a special appearance in the Chief Justice's courtroom.
The movie *Laapataa Ladies*, produced by Aamir Khan and centered on the theme of gender equality, will be screened this evening in the Supreme Court auditorium for judges and Registry members. Khan, along with the film's director, Kiran Rao, will attend the screening and engage in an interaction with the audience.
In his warm welcome address to Aamir Khan, the Chief Justice of India mentioned how he had personally invited the actor to witness the court proceedings firsthand.
"I don't want a stampede in the Court, we welcome a very special guest of the Supreme Court of India...I said why don't you drop into the court and see the proceedings in real life" CJI Chandrachud said.
Attorney General R. Venkataramani, while appearing in one of the matters, also commented on how the Chief Justice's courtroom has become "star-studded" today.
"It's a star-studded court today!" AG expressed in a lighter vein.
Khan was seen sitting in the front row of the Court watching the proceedings.
