SC Releases New Roster Following Appointment of CJI Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Effective November 11, 2024

The Supreme Court, following Justice Sanjiv Khanna's appointment as Chief Justice of India, has introduced a new work roster effective from November 11, 2024.

The roster allocates cases to benches subject-wise.

The Chief Justice of India’s bench is working on different subjects, covering areas such as Public Interest Litigations (PILs), social justice, service matters, elections, indirect taxation, arbitration, admiralty law, judicial services, appointments of constitutional functionaries, armed forces cases, medical admissions, personal law, criminal matters, contempt of court, RTI, liquor licenses, and mining leases, among others.

PILs, habeas corpus matters, election matters will be handled by the first three benches (CJI, Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant).
