SC judges serve Langar at Gurupurab celebration

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Hon'ble judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Rajesh Bindal, took part in serving langar during the celebration of Gurupurab.

The event was organized by young lawyers to commemorate the 554th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. An impressive turnout of over 2000 lawyers and litigants joined in the festivities, highlighting the unity and camaraderie within the legal community. The judges' participation in serving langar added a special touch to the celebration, emphasizing the importance of shared traditions and communal harmony.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on April 15, 1469, in Talwandi (now in Pakistan), currently known as Nankana Sahib. His teachings underscored the unity of God, the equality of all humans, and the significance of altruistic service. He opposed rituals, superstitions, and caste-based discrimination, advocating for a path of love, humility, and devotion. Guru Nanak Ji introduced the concept of langar, a communal kitchen where people of diverse castes and backgrounds could gather and share a meal.
