SC Delays Hearing on Free Sanitary Pads in Schools Petition, Seeks Central Government Update for Next Session

The Supreme Court has currently postponed the hearing on the petition filed demanding free sanitary pads in government and residential schools across the country. The Supreme Court of the country has directed the Central Government to inform about the progress made in this case in the next hearing.

In this regard, information has been given by the Central Government in the Supreme Court of the country that a draft policy has been prepared regarding this matter. Currently, opinions have been sought from the stakeholders, for which the holders have been given four weeks' time.

Due to this, the court has said that now a progress report in this regard should be presented in the next hearing. In this petition, along with providing sanitary pads to girls students, arrangements for separate washrooms have also been made.

Petition activist Jaya Thakur had filed a petition, in which it was said that a petition was filed to provide free sanitary pads to the girl students from class 6th to 12th in all the government and residential schools of the country. Was. Since then this matter is in the court. Now it is expected that after receiving the opinion from the stakeholders after four weeks, swift action can be taken in this matter.

Earlier, the court had asked the Central Government to work expeditiously in this direction after talking to the states as well as the Union Territories. In such a situation, there is news of great relief for girl students across the country. Soon the system of providing free sanitary pads will start in their schools.
