The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of as many as 15 additional judges from across 5 High Court as permanent judges.

The following judges have been recommended permament:

• Kerala High Court - Justices Basant Balaji, CK Jayachandran, Sophy Thomas and PV Gopala Pillai Ajithkumar

• Gauhati High Court - Justices Kakheto Sema, Devashis Baruah, Malasri Nandi, Marli Vankung and Arun Dev Choudhury

• Chhattisgarh High Court - Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari

• Bombay High Court - Justices Anil Laxman Pansare and SC More.

• Calcutta High Court - Justices Krishna Rao, Bibhas Ranjan De and Ajay Kumar Mukherjee

There are currently 629 additional judges and 152 permanent judges across 25 High Courts, as against a sanctioned strength of 840 and 274 additional and permanent judges respectively.
