SC allows Bhojshala complex survey with preservation conditions

The Supreme Court of India has made a significant decision regarding the planned survey at the renowned Bhojshala Complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Despite concerns raised about potential risks, the apex court has refused to halt the Archaeological Survey of India's (ASI) proposed survey.

However, in ensuring the preservation of this historic site's structural integrity, the court has laid down explicit conditions.

The directive issued by the Supreme Court emphasizes the prohibition of any physical excavation activities during the survey that could jeopardize the monument's condition. The Bhojshala Complex holds immense historical and cultural significance, attracting scholarly and archaeological interest over the years.

Given its storied past, the court's decision has been closely monitored by historians, archaeologists, and cultural heritage enthusiasts alike.

In its verdict, the Supreme Court has highlighted the necessity for a cautious approach, stressing that the survey must be conducted in a manner that safeguards the structure from any potential damage.

Furthermore, the court has stipulated that no actions should solely rely on the survey's findings, indicating a careful and measured interpretation and utilization of the results.
