Salute: Daughter wants to start practice, so transfer outside MP: Justice Atul Sreedharan writes to SC Collegium

Justice Atul Sreedharan of Madhya Pradesh High court has requested the Supreme Court collegium to transfer him outside the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Justice Sreedharan has taken a meaningful and exemplary initiative. Justice Sreedharan has requested the Supreme Court Collegium to transfer him out of Madhya Pradesh. He said that his elder daughter would start practicing law in the district court and Indore bench of the High Court from next year. He says that when his daughter starts practicing, he does not want to be posted in Madhya Pradesh.

He has written to the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul Justice Fal Jaffe, Justice MR Shah and Justice Ajay Rastogi's Collegium which has deliberated on Justice Sreedharan's request and accepted it and recommended that he be transferred to Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh for better judicial administration.

Significantly, Justice Sreedharan was elevated a judge in the High Court on April 7, 2016. After serving in Indore bench. Presently Justin Sreedharan is posted in Gwalior bench.

It is indeed a salutable initiative.
