The 4th National Lok Adalat of 2024, organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), has efficiently settled a total of 1,45,47,595 cases by 7:00 PM on Sunday.
This includes 1,21,78,509 pre-litigation cases and 23,69,086 pending cases.
The resolved cases cover a wide range of criminal, civil, consumer, and other disputes, with the total settlement amount reaching approximately Rs. 7,462.54 crores.
The initiative, led by Chief Justice of India Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Supreme Court Judge Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, continues to alleviate the burden on the formal judicial system, making justice more accessible, especially for marginalized communities. Rajasthan's Lok Adalat is scheduled for 21st and 22nd December 2024.
