Rajasthan HC grants leave for government doctor to contest state assembly elections

In a recent ruling issued by Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati of the Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court, permission has been granted to a government doctor, Dr. Deepak Ghoghra, aged 43, to participate in the upcoming Rajasthan State Assembly elections scheduled for November 25. Dr. Ghoghra is running as a candidate for the Dungarpur constituency, representing the Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP). Notably, he is the offspring of Velaram Ghoghra, who serves as the state president of the BTP.

The court's ruling specifically instructs the relevant authorities to release Dr. Ghoghra from his position as a medical officer, allowing him to fully engage in the electoral process. Furthermore, the order emphasizes that if Dr. Ghoghra does not succeed in the election, he should be permitted to resume his duties as a medical officer without hindrance.
