Punjab and Haryana HC directs placing of Nuh demolition case before Chief Justice

The division bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court comprising Justice Arun Palli and Justice Jagmohan Bansal the placing of the Nuh demolition case before the Chief Justice.

The first Division Bench is headed by the Chief Justice, who has not been holding the court for the past couple of days.

Additional Advocate-General Deepak Sabherwal told the Bench that it was not a case of ethnic cleansing and proper procedure as prescribed under the law had been adopted.

Additional Advocate-General Deepak Sabherwal told the Bench, that the situation does not involve ethnic cleansing. He emphasized that the actions taken were in accordance with the established legal procedures.

The demolition efforts conducted in Gurugram and Nuh were carried out following the prescribed legal protocols. Seeking more time to provide a comprehensive response, Sabherwal also requested an extension for filing a detailed reply.

Subsequently, the case is scheduled to be presented before the Chief Justice for further consideration.
