In a bizarre moment for the former Vice-President and Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai, his name is not there in the Voter's List of Supreme Court Bar Association. It is learnt that Pradeep Rai is contesting for the post of President, Supreme Court Bar Association. The reason cited by the Election Body of the SCBA is further a shame for the senior advocate since his name on the list is rejected due to a lesser than required number of appearances.
To become a voter in the Supreme Court Bar Association, one has to have 50 appearances before the Supreme Court if one is not an Advocate-on-record and for the AOR is it either 50 appearances or 20 filings.
Against the name of Pradeep Rai the remark is given "Only 07 mediations, Hence Rejected."
The Voters List of the Supreme Court Bar Association was issued last evening which has 2686 voters and the voting rights of 1804 advocates have been rejected on various counts.
Presently Aadish Agarwala is the President of the SCBA and Rohit Pandey is the Secretary. This year the election of the SCBA is going to take place on 16th May 2024.
Aadish Agarwala, Priya Hingorani and Pradeep Rai are desiring to contest for the post of President, SCBA.
