Sr. Advocate R. Basant mentioned before the bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul requesting to permit 4 times MP Prabhunath Singh to appear Virtually for the question of hearing on sentence. 

on 18th August, 2023, the Supreme Court has convicted Prabhunath Singh in the double murder case. In this case, the lower court had acquitted Prabhunath Singh and Patna High Court also upheld the acquittal but the Supreme Court convicted Prabhunath and directed him to appear in the court on 1st September 2023.

The Court passed the following order on 26.08.2023

"The applicant/respondent No. 2 is permitted to appear virtually through video conferencing on 01.09.2023 for hearing on question of sentence, instead of the physical appearance, as directed vide judgment dated 18.08.2023."
