The Supreme Court granted pre-arrest bail to Businessman Raj Kundra and actress Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra in connection with a case of allegedly distributing pornographic video. A bench of Justices KM Joseph and BV Nagarathna hearing the bail petition granted bail to them while observing that the accused were cooperating in the investigation. 

Senior Advocate R. Basant representing one of the accused contended that the charge-sheet has already ben submitted in the case and the accused persons are cooperating the police in the investigation. 

While enlarging the accused persons on anticipatory bail, the court directed all the accused persons to cooperate in the investigation. Earlier Raj Kundra had been granted interim protection by the Apex Court.

It was contended by Kundra before the Supreme Court that he was not connected to the content creation, publication or transmission of the alleged illegal videos. He was arrested by the Mumbai Police in July 2021 in another case where he was accused of distributing porl videos through an App and he was released on bail in Septem, 2021. 

The Supreme Court Granted anticipatory bail too all the accused present before it namely Ripu Sudan Balkishan Kundra @ Raj Kundra, Umesh Ganpat Kamat, Poonam Shobhanath Pandey @ Poonam Pandey,  Sherlyn Chopra, Suvojit Chowdhury.
