On Wednesday, Adish C Aggarwala, Chairman of the All India Bar Association, announced that the Pakistan Bar Council has extended an invitation to cricket teams comprising male and female lawyers from India. They have invited them to visit Pakistan in October to participate in friendly matches. Following this, reciprocal matches are scheduled to be held in India.
Hassan Raza Pasha, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council, formally extended an invitation to Aggarwala. In his letter, he emphasized that this initiative aims to strengthen the bonds of harmony and foster friendly relations among lawyers from both India and Pakistan.
The proposal entails organizing men's and women's cricket matches that will take place in Karachi and Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
"During this visit, the exchange of views and experience will help both sides to understand the legal system of India and Pakistan. This initiative will increase our legal knowledge... The move will also strengthen relationship between councils of both the countries,” the letter said.
Aggarwala said that it will be a good start and improve the relationship between both the countries, claiming that after visiting each other's countries, lawyers will gain experience and definitely promote brotherhood between both the countries.
“For India and Pakistan, cricket is not just a game, it is a highly emotional issue and these proposed matches will bring back special memories for cricket-loving lawyers of both nations,” Aggarwala said.
