P&H HC Notices YouTuber Elvish Yadav for Alleged Life Threats and Snake Venom Drug Use

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has taken notice of a protection plea lodged against YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The plea alleges that Yadav issued life threats to animal rights activists who recorded a viral video of him. Moreover, an FIR has been filed against Yadav for allegedly using Snake Venom as drugs.

Recently, Yadav was arrested for his purported involvement in procuring and selling snake venom at rave parties. He is said to have been booked under several legal provisions including the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy, negligent conduct concerning poison endangering human safety, negligent conduct concerning animals, as well as relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi, while issuing notice to the Haryana Government, DGP, and other authorities, scheduled the matter for April 18. The petition was filed by Saurabh Gupta and his brother Gaurav Gupta in the High Court, seeking police protection against the YouTuber and his associates. The petitioners, who identify as animal rights activists, recorded a viral video of Yadav and subsequently filed an FIR against him for allegedly using snake venom in rave parties.

The petitioners have alleged that following their report of the case, they have been subjected to threatening calls from Elvish and his associates. These calls demand the withdrawal of their complaint against him.

As a result, the petitioners have sought protection for their lives and liberties, claiming that they are under imminent threat from Yadav and his associates.
