P&H HC Acquits Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in 2002 Murder Case

Today, the Punjab and Haryana High Court acquitted Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and four others in the murder case of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

The decision was pronounced by a bench of Justices Sureshwar Thakur and Lalit Batra on the appeals filed by Ram Rahim and the co-accused, who had previously been convicted by a CBI Court in Panchkula in 2021.

The court upheld the appeals, thereby acquitting Ram Rahim and the four others.

However, Ram Rahim will remain incarcerated due to convictions in other cases, including one for rape and another for conspiracy to commit murder.
