Ministry of Law and Justice notifies appointment of judges for Madras and Karnataka High Courts

The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notification regarding the appointment of judges to the Madras and Karnataka High Courts.

The appointments to the Madras High Court are as follows: Justice A. A. Nakkiran, Justice Nidumolu Mala, Justice S. Sounthar, Justice Sunder Mohan, and Justice Kabali Kumaresh Babu, who were serving as Additional Judges, have been appointed as Judges of the Madras High Court.

The Notification, dated 12 September, reads, "In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri Justices (i) A. A. Nakkiran (ii) Ms. Nidumolu Mala, (iii) S. Sounthar, (iv) Sunder Mohan and (v) Kabali Kumaresh Babu, Additional Judges of the Madras High Court, to be Judges of that High Court, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices".

Justice Anant Ramanath Hegde and Justice Karmankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha Additional Judges have been appointed as Judges of the Karnataka High Court.

The Notification, dated 12 September, reads, "In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Justice Anant Ramanath Hegde, and (ii) &pt. Justice Karmankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha, Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court, to be Judges of the Karnataka High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices".

The Notification dated September 12, reads, "In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Siddaiah Rachaiah, Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court, to be an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court, for a period of one year w.e.f. 08.11.2023."
