Madhya Pradesh Court Orders Beauty Parlour Owner to Pay ₹5,000 Monthly Maintenance to Allegedly Unemployed Husband in Matrimonial Case

Madhya Pradesh Court Orders Beauty Parlour Owner to Pay ₹5,000 Monthly Maintenance to Allegedly Unemployed Husband in Matrimonial Case

The Madhya Pradesh court has issued a ruling in a matrimonial case, ordering a woman who owns a beauty parlour to pay her allegedly unemployed husband a monthly maintenance of ₹5,000.

"In one of our interim applications, the family court on February 20 (Tuesday) passed an order ordering my client's wife to pay him ₹ 5,000 in monthly maintenance besides bearing the cost of litigation," advocate Manish Jharola, who represented the husband, told reporters on Thursday.

He mentioned that despite his wife running a beauty parlour, he couldn't pursue his studies beyond Class 12 due to the alleged mental and physical torture inflicted by her.

Mr. Jharola stated that his client filed an application in the family court, asserting that he was presently unable to support himself financially due to his unemployment.

The lawyer alleged that the woman, driven by unilateral affection, and her family members coerced his client into marrying her at an Arya Samaj temple in 2022, despite his lack of readiness for marriage. He further claimed that, due to this forced union, the young couple quickly grew apart and became estranged.

According to Mr. Jharola, his client had lodged a complaint with the Indore Commissioner of Police regarding the purported mistreatment he endured from his wife and her family members.

"In retaliation, the woman moved the family court seeking restoration of matrimonial relationship with my client. She also filed a case of alleged domestic violence against her husband in a district court," he added.
