Life sentence to 30 persons by a Rajasthan Court in CI Phool Mohammad lynching

In the infamous CI Phool Mohammad killing took place about 12 years ago, a District & Sessions Court in Sawaimadhopur, Rajasthan awarded life sentence to 30 persons and also imposed fine of Rs. 50,000/- each. The Court acquitted 49 persons in connection with the same offence. 

The Court had held them guilty on 16th November this week. The CBI has investigated the case and submitted its charge-sheet in which the then D.S.P. of the area was also named. The people who have been sentenced are the then DSP Mahendra Singh, Radheyshyam Mali, Parmanand, Babloo, Prithviraj, Ramcharan, Chiranjilal, Sher Singh, Harji, Ramesh Meena, Kalu, BAjaranga Khatik, Murri Meena, Chaturbhuj Meena, Banwari, Ramkaran, Hansraj, Shankar Mali, Banwari Lal Meena, Dharmendra Meena, Yogendra Nath, Brijesh Hanuman, Ramjilal, Makhan Singh, Rambharose Meena, Mohan Mali, Shyamlal, etc.

It is also relevant that till today about 5 accused have died. Out of the 49 persons acquitted, 2 are Juvenile and 3 are still absconding.

On 17th March 2011, SHO cum CI Phool Mohammad had come to village Surwal. One person claimed on the water tank there. FOr the inactivity of the police he jumped from the water tank and committed suicide. After this the mob targeted the SHO and pelted stones. That time Phool Mohammad was sitting in the Jeep. Due to pelting, the SHO Phool Mohammad turned unconscious. The mob set the jeep ablaze and he was burnt alive.
