The 22 days old strike in Rajasthan for the demand of "Advocates' Protection Bill" would continue at least till 21.03.2023. It has been resolved by the Advocates group. The Advocate's group fixed the meeting today after the assurance of the Government of Rajasthan to bring the Bill to the Legislative Assembly.
As per the Notice issued by Mr. Girdhari Singh Bhati, the Hony Secretary, Rajasthan High Court Advocate's Association, Jodhpur they would wait till 21.03.2023 for the bill, and till then there would be a mass work suspension.
The notice reads as under:-
"As per the unanimous decision passed by the representatives of Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association, Jodhpur and all the Bar Associations of the state, the voluntary indefinite boycott of judicial works will be continued demanding the implementation of the Advocates Protection Act in the state.
On 09.03.2023, a virtual meeting of the committee constituted by the State Government consisting of seven ministers including Law Minister Shantilal Dhariwal and other cabinet ministers and office bearers of the Bar Association of Jodhpur and Jaipur was organized in which the meeting was held on 15.03. On the positive decision of the State Government to present the Advocates Protection Bill in the Vidhansabha from 2023, the siege of the proposed Vidhansabha is postponed on 13.03.2023 and as per the decision of the representatives of the Bar Associations of entire Rajasthan, the bill is passed in the Vidhansabha by 21.3.2023 Till then the advocates will not voluntarily participate in judicial work and the agitation will be continued. If the bill is not passed in the Vidhansabha on 21.03.2023, then the form of agitation will be released jointly by the Joint Struggle Committee, till then the advocates will not voluntarily appear in the courts."
"The Bar Association" Jaipur issued a separate notice under the signature of its Secretary Manoj Kumar Sharma which reads as under:-
All the advocates of the state are informed that all the advocates of Rajasthan will continue the indefinite postponement of judicial work till the Advocate Protection Act is passed in the Vidhansabha, demanding implementation of the Advocates Protection Act.
On 09.03.2023, a virtual meeting of the committee constituted by the seven ministers, including Law and Justice Minister Shri Shanti Dhariwal and other ministers of the cabinet and the chief convenors and office bearers of the Bar Association of Jaipur and Jodhpur, was organized in which on 15.03.2023 Dated 13.03 on the positive decision of the State Government to present the Advocates Protection Bill in the Legislative Assembly. The siege of the proposed Vidhansabha on 2023 is postponed and according to the decision of the representatives of the Bar Associations of the entire Rajasthan, the bill is passed in the Vidhansabha till 21.03.2023, till then the advocates will voluntarily postpone the judicial work and the movement will continue. If the bill is not passed in the Vidhansabha on 21.03.2023, then the Joint Struggle Committee will jointly release the format of the movement, till then the advocates will not voluntarily present in the courts.
