Kolkata Police have launched an investigation into the suspected hacking of a live-stream from one of the Calcutta High Court's vacation bench courtrooms on YouTube, an officer reported on Tuesday.
The cybercrime unit of the Kolkata Police initiated the investigation following a complaint lodged by the IT department of the Calcutta High Court late Monday evening, the officer stated.
"An investigation is on. We will be checking what happened and try to spot the miscreants behind this," the officer informed.
On Monday, an obscene video was reportedly "live-streamed" for nearly one minute during a hearing presided over by Justice Subhasish Samanta in courtroom number 7 before it was halted, according to the officer. The high court's IT department began an investigation into the incident prior to contacting the Kolkata Police.
