On Sunday, a Kolkata court issued an arrest warrant for Bollywood actress Zareen Khan in connection with an alleged cheating case that was filed against her in 2018. The investigating officer in the case had previously submitted the charge sheet concerning the actress to the Sealdah court in Kolkata.

Despite the legal proceedings, Zareen Khan did not apply for bail nor make any appearances before the court. As a result of her consistent non-attendance, the court took the step of issuing an arrest warrant.

When asked about the arrest warrant, Zareen Khan said she had no clarity on the matter. "I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR," she said.

Back in 2018, Zareen Khan was slated to perform at a Durga Puja event in Kolkata. Much to the organizers' dismay, she failed to make an appearance, leaving them waiting in anticipation.

According to the police, one of the organizers filed a formal complaint of cheating against the Bollywood actor and her manager. Following this complaint, an FIR was registered against both of them, and they were subsequently summoned for questioning.

During that time, Zareen Khan did eventually appear for questioning and asserted that she had been misled by the event organizers. She further alleged that the organizers had falsely informed her that high-profile government officials, including the Chief Minister of Bengal, would be present at the event.

Subsequently, Zareen Khan's team discovered that the event in north Kolkata was on a much smaller scale than initially indicated. She stated that there had been miscommunication regarding flight tickets and accommodation arrangements, which ultimately led to her decision to skip the show.

Additionally, it was revealed that Zareen Khan had filed a case against the event organizers in a local court. Following the investigation, a chargesheet was filed against both her and her manager. While her manager appeared in court and requested bail, Zareen Khan neither applied for bail nor made an appearance before the court.
