Kerala HC Suspends Officials Over Allegedly Derogatory Play Targeting PM Modi

On Friday, two officials from the Kerala High Court were suspended following their involvement in a play that purportedly contained derogatory content targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government

During the Republic Day celebrations at the High Court, the performance of the play prompted a complaint asserting that it contained content deemed disrespectful towards both the Indian government and the nation. Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA and Court Keeper (Higher Grade) Sudheesh PM are the two officials who have been suspended.

The High Court issued an order announcing the suspension of Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA and Court Keeper (Higher Grade) Sudheesh PM. The decision was made pending an inquiry and disciplinary action due to the "derogatory content and criticism against the Government" presented during the stage show at the High Court auditorium as part of the Republic Day celebrations in 2024.

Upon receiving a reference on the matter, Kerala High Court Chief Justice AJ Desai ordered the immediate suspension of Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA and Court Keeper (Higher Grade) Sudheesh PM.

The officials will receive a subsistence allowance along with other allowances as per the applicable rules.
