A lawyer practicing in the High Court of Kerala is facing legal action for allegedly sending her client a counterfeit court order.
An FIR was filed at the Fort Cochin police station against advocate Parvathy S Krishnan following a complaint lodged by her former client, Judeson PJ.
The FIR against Krishnan comprises allegations of offenses that can be penalized under Sections 420 (involving cheating and inducing dishonesty for the transfer of property), 406 (related to criminal breach of trust), 468 (involving forgery for the purpose of deception), and 471 (pertaining to fraudulently using a document or electronic record as genuine, knowing or having reason to believe it's forged) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As per the FIR, Krishnan allegedly informed Judeson that she could facilitate the conversion of his 11.3 cents of property from Nilam (wetland) to Purayidam (dryland) in the official records of the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO).
The FIR mentions that this conversion is obligatory under the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008, but it is a time-consuming process that may span several years. Krishnan allegedly informed Judeson that she could expedite the process if he paid her a fee of ₹75,000.
Following Judeson's signing of her vakalath and receiving an initial payment of ₹40,000, Krishnan allegedly sent him a counterfeit reference letter purportedly from the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO) and a fraudulent order supposedly issued by the Kerala High Court.
The FIR against Krishnan was registered on September 29 based on the allegations related to these forged documents and actions as mentioned.
