Former Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court and former Governor of Rajasthan Justice Navrang Lal Tibrewal passed away today.
Navrang Lal Tibrewal, born on 17th January 1935 in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, is an esteemed Indian judge and former acting Governor of Rajasthan. He also held the position of the acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
Justice Tibrewal received his early education in Jhunjhunu, pursued his graduation at Maharaja College, Jaipur, and earned his LL.B. from University Law College in 1959. Following a six-month training period as a senior lawyer, he commenced his legal practice in the Jhunjhunu district and subordinate courts.
After six years, he relocated to Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur in 1965. In 1997, with the establishment of the High Court bench at Jaipur, he shifted to Jaipur after 32 years of legal practice.
In 1982, Justice Tibrewal was elected as the Chairman of the Rajasthan Bar Council.
He took on the role of a high court judge on July 20, 1990, and assumed the position of acting chief justice on April 10 following the retirement of the then acting chief justice, M P Singh. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the Legal Aid Service Board for six years. In 1998, he became the acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court and, on May 25, 1998, took on the role of the acting Governor of Rajasthan State, succeeding Darbara Singh. Currently, he serves as the chairman of various educational institutions, including one in Jaipur and three institutions in Jhunjhunu. His father's name is Ladu Ram Tiberwal.
