Judge is not the God; there is no need to argue with folded hands : Kerala HC

Recently, while hearing an arguement, the single headed bench of Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan of Kerala High Court has said that judges are not God.

He is just performing his constitutional duties and there is no need for litigants or lawyers to argue with folded hands.,  Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan said this when a litigant argued his case with folded hands and tears in his eyes.

The justice said that even though the court of law is known as the temple of justice, there are no deities on the bench who require any kind of reverence from lawyers and litigants other than maintaining decorum.

Justice Kunhikrishnan said that first of all, there is no need for any litigant or lawyer to argue his case with folded hands before the court, as it is his constitutional right to argue any case before any court. He said that generally the court is called the temple of justice, but there is no God sitting in the bench.

The High Court made this comment in the case of plaintiff Ramla Kabir, who had appeared in the court in person to get the FIR registered against her canceled.
