The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in Srinagar has taken a proactive step to tackle its pressing infrastructural issues by urging the Chief Secretary of J&K to devise solutions for ensuring a continuous electricity supply to the court premises.
Amidst ongoing court proceedings, the High Court in Srinagar faced an unexpected power outage, plunging the premises into darkness and rendering crucial amenities, such as the air heating unit, inoperative. Despite attempts to rectify the situation, the disruption persisted, underscoring the urgency of addressing the issue.
Justices Atul Sreedharan and Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, expressing deep concern over the current circumstances, underscored the critical need for a permanent solution. They urged the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory to intervene promptly and execute initiatives aimed at ensuring a dependable power supply to the High Court.
“This Court requests the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory to pass necessary orders to solve this problem forthwith.''
The court has prioritized the issue, scheduling it for further consideration on February 21, 2024, placing it at the forefront of its agenda for additional directives and actions.
