An FIR has been filed against YouTuber Elvish Yadav for allegedly threatening a witness in the Noida rave party case, according to police reports on Tuesday.
The FIR was lodged following a directive from Additional Civil Judge Pratibha on January 24.
Saurabh Gupta, a member of People For Animals (PFA) and a witness in the case, accused Yadav and his supporters of arriving in multiple vehicles at his society in Raj Nagar Extension on May 10, 2024, where they threatened him. Gupta claimed he reported the incident to the Nandgram police, but no FIR was filed.
Subsequently, Gupta approached the court, seeking the registration of a case.
Gupta’s brother, Gaurav, had earlier filed a complaint against Yadav for allegedly supplying snake venom at the rave party in November 2023. Saurabh alleged that since the case was registered in Noida, Yadav had developed a grudge against both brothers and their family members. He further claimed that Yadav was attempting to either frame them in a false case or orchestrate an accident to harm them. Saurabh also stated that Yadav has been continuously threatening them on social media.
SHO of Nandgram police station, Dharmpal Singh, confirmed on Tuesday that the FIR was registered under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC on Monday night, and an investigation is currently underway.
