A startling revelation has emerged from Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), where 13 law degrees submitted for verification have been found to be fake. The degrees, comprising eight LLB and five BALB credentials, were sent to CCSU by the Delhi Bar Association for authentication.
The investigation revealed that the fake degrees date from 2005 to 2023 and were purportedly issued by aided colleges. During the verification process, discrepancies were found in key details such as roll numbers and marks, confirming their fraudulent nature.
Following the investigation, CCSU prepared a detailed report outlining the findings. According to university officials, this is not the first time fake degrees and mark sheets have surfaced during verification. In the past, similar cases have been reported, with documents sent from states such as Delhi and Karnataka.
In another development, 35 office superintendents across the state, including eight from CCSU, have been promoted to the position of Assistant Registrar. Of these, three—Sanjeev Kumar, Usha, and Ramesh Singh—have been assigned to Maa Shakumbhari Devi University in Saharanpur.
Additionally, Vinay Kumar and Manoj Kumar from Kanpur University have been appointed Assistant Registrars at CCSU. The promotions mark a significant step in enhancing administrative capacity within the universities.
This latest incident underscores a recurring problem of fake credentials in higher education institutions. It raises questions about the integrity of degree verification systems and emphasizes the need for stricter measures to combat such malpractices.
CCSU’s findings and the subsequent promotions reflect ongoing efforts to uphold academic integrity while bolstering administrative efficiency
