The Central Government by notification has transferred all the cases/applications where debt amount involved 100 crores and above to the Debt Recovery Tribunals of Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. By the notification, the jurisdiction of these three DRTs has also been enhanced. The notification has been issued under section 3 of the Recovery of Debt and Bankruptcy Act, 1993

As per the new notification published on 04.10.2022, Tuesday, by the Ministry of Finance the following three Tribunals will have jurisdiction to deal with cases involving the pecuniary jurisdiction of 100 crores and above:-

Debt Recovery Tribunal No.1 Chennai

Debt Recovery Tribunal No.3, Delhi

Debt Recovery Tribunal No.1, Mumbai

All other Tribunals will have jurisdiction to entertain cases of lesser than this amount.
