The Delhi High Court nullified the FIR between the two parties, citing a compromise, and directed the planting of 50 saplings in the parks.
Following the plea of petitioner Om Kumar and others, a bench led by Justice Anoop Kumar Mendiratta instructed the accused family members to guarantee the planting of saplings measuring up to three feet in height within the residential area under the jurisdiction of Sultanpuri police station. The court emphasized that the FIR was filed within the purview of this police station.
The court mandated that photographs, along with a report from the relevant investigating officer/SHO, concerning the planted saplings, must be submitted to the court within eight weeks.
It further stated that the maintenance of the plants and trees would be the responsibility of the respective authorities. Failure to adhere to the tree planting instructions would result in the petitioner being fined Rs 25,000, payable to the Delhi State Legal Services Authority.
As per the petition, the petitioner claimed that his neighbors had assaulted him with bricks. Allegations were also made that when his brother and father intervened to help, they too were subjected to physical violence. However, both parties reached a resolution through mutual agreement.
