While quashing an attempt to commit culpable homicide case after settlement between the parties, the single headed bench of Justice Banerjee drected 24 individuals implicated in the matter to engage in 'basic cleaning work' at four police stations, dividing themselves into four groups, as part of their resolution.
“The said 24 persons shall be at liberty to decide amongst themselves as to the composition of each group of 6 persons and also the Police Station where each group shall undertake the aforesaid basic cleaning duty,” the Bench said.
"The court dismissed the FIR filed in July under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860."
After a compromise deed was signed between the accused and the complainants on September 2, the accused individuals subsequently filed a petition requesting the quashing of the FIR. The complainants informed the court that they had willingly resolved all disputes with the accused parties, had no intention of pursuing criminal proceedings, and had no objection to the FIR being quashed.
In granting the plea, the court instructed all parties to form four groups, each consisting of six individuals, and perform basic cleaning duties at Mehrauli, Fatehpur Beri, Maidan Garhi, and Neb Sarai police stations on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday of the week starting from September 18.
Justice Banerjee specified that the mentioned tasks should be carried out to the Investigating Officer's contentment
“The petition, alongwith the pending applications, if any, stands disposed of. Lastly, this Court applauds the generous efforts put in by each of the 24 parties involved in the present petition before this Court,” the court said.
