On Thursday, the Delhi High Court declined Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's request for protection from arrest in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy.
Following arguments from both sides, the court stated that it is currently not inclined to provide relief in this matter.
However, a division bench consisting of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Manoj Jain has allowed the Enforcement Directorate the liberty to respond to Kejriwal's application.
The next hearing for the application has been scheduled alongside Delhi CM's primary petition on April 22. Arvind Kejriwal submitted an application to the Delhi High Court requesting interim protection from arrest. This application is part of his larger petition contesting the nine summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case.
Earlier today, Delhi Minister Atishi stated that Kejriwal intends to participate in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations and collaborate with the agency.
"Delhi CM Kejriwal wants to join the ED investigation and cooperate with the agency. But, we believe that the ED is not an independent agency. It does not want to conduct investigation. It is a political tool of the BJP," Atishi added.
