"Delhi Bar Urges Judiciary: Avoid Adverse Orders for Non-Appearance on Jan 22 Amidst Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration"

The New Delhi Bar Association has officially urged judicial officers to refrain from issuing any unfavorable orders due to the absence of advocates or litigants on January 22, 2024. This request comes in anticipation of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration.

On January 22, the Pran Pratishtha of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is scheduled to occur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged people to celebrate Deepawali and illuminate Ram Jyoti on this day. He emphasized that the entire country should be brightly lit to mark this significant occasion.

In a letter directed to Sanjay Garg, the Principal District & Sessions Judge at the Patiala House Courts, Advocate O. N. Sharma, the Honorary Secretary of the New Delhi Bar Association, has formally requested that judicial officers be "appropriately urged so that no adverse order is issued on the 22nd of January, 2024, in case of the non-appearance of advocates or litigants."

The letter issued on Monday says, "With due respect, we wish to state that due to "Praan Pratishtha of Bhagwan Shri Ram in Ayodhya" the advocates may not be able to appear in the court on 22nd of January, 2024."
