Shahnawaz was arrested by the Thane police on Sunday (June 11) from Raigarh. He is accused of converting people in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh under the guise of online gaming. According to the allegations, he got a 17-year-old boy converted to Islam in collaboration with a Maulvi in ​​Kavinagar police station area.

After getting the remand in the Thane court, the UP police told the court that the accused would be taken to Ghaziabad by road, on which the court asked whether it could not be done by train?

The court asked the police to take care of the security and food and drink of the accused on the way.

aAccording to the report of ANI, on May 30, a case of religious conversion was registered at Ghaziabad's Kavi Nagar police station, in which the names of two people Shahnawaz Khan alias Baddo and Maulvi Nanni alias Abdul Rahman of a mosque had come up. Rahman was arrested by the police. During the investigation, Rahman's role was found in the conversion of a minor Jain boy and two Hindu boys. Electronic evidence related to this was also seized by the police.


Quoting the police, ANI had told that the accused used to target boys through online gaming. For this, some Muslim boys had created IDs in the name of Hindu boys and used to ask teenagers to read verses of Quran to win the game. They used to talk to him through the 'Discord Chat' app and there he was shown videos of Zakir Naik and Tariq Jameel converting to Islam.
