The Consortium of National Law Universities has submitted a transfer petition to the Supreme Court regarding petitions filed in multiple High Courts, which challenge the results of the recently conducted Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admission to various National Law Universities.
Petitions are currently pending in the High Courts of Delhi, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Bombay, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab & Haryana, challenging the results of the CLAT-2025 exam conducted in December 2024.
The Consortium seeks the consolidation of all petitions and their transfer to either the Supreme Court or a specific High Court. A bench consisting of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar will review the petition tomorrow.
In December 2024, the Supreme Court declined to entertain a petition challenging the answer keys of the CLAT-PG 2025 exam and directed the petitioners to approach the High Court instead.
