The complaint, submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission, demands strict action against the individuals named in the letter. It alleges that the remarks made on the show were intended to generate controversy for profit, with no concern for their impact on women's dignity or the influence on young audiences, particularly minors.
The episode in question featured content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, alongside Ranveer Allahbadia. During the show, Allahbadia posed a controversial 'would you rather' question regarding an intimate relationship between a contestant's parents, sparking widespread outrage on social media.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, when asked about the controversy, stated, "I have come to know about it but haven't seen it yet. Things have been presented in a wrong way. While everyone has freedom of speech, that freedom ends when it encroaches upon others' rights. Indian society has certain rules, and if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong. Action should be taken."
The viral clips from the show triggered a wave of criticism. One social media user commented, "Freedom of speech is a double-edged sword. Sadly, sometimes it allows mediocrity and shock value to masquerade as content." Another wrote, "Ranveer's mask has slipped today—people can now see his real face."
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate also condemned Allahbadia’s remark, calling it "pervert" and stating, "This isn’t creativity. It’s perversion. We can’t normalize such behavior as cool. The fact that this sick comment received loud applause is deeply concerning."
As of now, neither Allahbadia nor the other creators involved in the episode have responded to the backlash.
Notably, Ranveer Allahbadia, who boasts over 50 lakh Instagram followers and more than a crore YouTube subscribers, was awarded the Disruptor of the Year honor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the National Creators Award in Delhi's Bharat Mandapam last year.
