Justice Mustaque, who enrolled as a lawyer in 1989, practiced for seven years before various courts and statutory authorities in Kannur. He was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Kerala High Court on January 23, 2014, and subsequently appointed as a Permanent Judge effective from March 10, 2016. He is scheduled to assume office as the Acting Chief Justice from July 05.
