Centre Approves Appointment of Two Judicial Officers as Andhra Pradesh High Court Judges

The Central government has approved the appointment of two judicial officers as judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, shared the announcement today on X (formerly Twitter).

The newly appointed judges are:

  • Avadhanam Hari Haranadha Sarma
  • Dr. Yadavalli Lakshmana Rao

Their elevation was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium during a meeting on January 11.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court, which has a sanctioned strength of 37 judges, has been operating with 28 judges. With these appointments, the Court’s strength increases to 30, leaving 7 positions still vacant.
