The Supreme Court Collegium recommended their appointments through a resolution dated October 15. Of the five names, four were proposed for the first time on October 15, while PP Krishna Kumar's name had initially been recommended last October.

Since his appointment was still pending Central government clearance, the Collegium reiterated his name in this year's October 15 resolution.

As of October 15, the Kerala High Court has 40 judges in place against a sanctioned strength of 47.
