The Central government has announced the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva as the acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He succeeds Justice Sheel Nagu, who has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Sachdeva, who was transferred from the Delhi High Court to the Madhya Pradesh High Court in May at his own request, will now step into his new role.
Justice Sachdeva began his legal career by enrolling as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi on August 1, 1988. He has practiced before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and various district courts in Delhi. In 1995, he attained the designation of Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court.
He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on April 17, 2013, and became a permanent judge on March 18, 2015.
