The Central government has approved the appointment of judicial officer Ashish Naithani as a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Arjun Ram Meghwal, announced the development via a tweet.
Naithani’s elevation was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in December 2024 during a meeting held on December 22, chaired by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna.
With this appointment, the Uttarakhand High Court, which has a sanctioned strength of 11 judges but has been functioning with only 6, takes a step toward addressing its judicial vacancies.
