The central appoints Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao as the Chief Justice of Telangana.

Currently he is the senior most judge serving the Telangana High Court. 

However, Justice P. Naveen Rao will be the acting as the Chief Justice of Telangana only for a single day, as he is set to bid adieu to the Telangana High upon his retirement, on the 14 July 2023.

He will be succeeded by Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili, the senior most puisne Judge of Telangana High Court.
