CBI Secures Sanction to Prosecute Satyendar Jain in Disproportionate Assets Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed a Delhi court on Monday that it had obtained the necessary sanctions to prosecute AAP leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in a disproportionate assets case.

The submission was made before Special Judge Jitendra Singh, who scheduled the next hearing for January 22.

The court noted that a supplementary chargesheet had been filed against Jain on January 4.

According to the CBI, Jain allegedly accumulated assets worth approximately ₹1.62 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income, during his tenure as a public servant between February 14, 2015, and May 31, 2017.
